Season 2011 is over. Not in GolfRoom though :)

Season 2011 is officially over now. Last weekend we had our season ending session with Tero, Markku and Toni on place called GolfRoom. On GolfRoom you can play golf in simulator, there’s always summer, so it’s great place to play golf even in middle of winter. See you there 🙂 I also want to thank all my supporters this year. Without you playing on European tour wouldn’t be possible. But no time for me resting. Next season is coming soon and practice has started already with my new coach Stenna Westerlund. It’s going to be interesting winter. You can read more from here. Take care you all readers 🙂

EDGA Nation Cup 11.-13.11.2011

Team Finland, 4 players, took part of nation cup held in spain, 11-13.11.2011. organized by EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association)

The tournament was played La Torre Best Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, Near Murcia, in the village of Roldan. The field was challenging but beautiful par 68. Course’s most unusual detail was that the bunkers were surface-cutting many holes more than the fairway. In addition to challenging pin positions and watter hazards, as well area typical bushes and long grass, which almost always forced to take a penalty shot, put the course to condition that even the single-handicap players had their own difficulties to play under 90 shots results. The other hand, a wise and sensible game to get a good result was possible. You just have to remember to stay on fairway, away from the bushes and looked carefully when there was chances to attack to greens.

EDGA Order Of Merit: Italian Open 11.-12.10.2011 @Rapallo

Last European tour competition 2011 was played in Italy, Rapallo on October 10-12.

The weather was exellent and whole tournament was aranged perfectly like they do often in Italy.

Practice day

Where’s my caddie? Where’s the tii today? Water? Yes? No? Ok, let’s go, we should be tii off 5 minutes ago. So yes we were in Italy. Some things works extremely good and then some Aren’t so simple than you could think. But it really doesn’t matter. More important thing is to realize that and just enjoy athmosphere around you. This is Italy and this is Rapallo. One of the oldest golf courses in Italy. And all this makes this whole thing so exited. Hitting was ok, driving not. Some improvements have to do for competition. I Feel good, let’s see what happens. Course is short, but extremely difficult. Greens are like stamps, small and so fast.

Finnish Open 2011 at Harjattula

I started my competitions quite late this year in golf. I think this Finnish open were first one. Great tournament, great couple of rounds golf for me. Best nine were 43 for me. I think that’s one of the best nines i’ve ever had in a competition.

Final result for me were 2nd. Only one stroke behind leader. Quite good i would say in first B-category Finnish Open.

Thanks Tommi for being amazing caddie for me.

European Championships 2010 at Austria

European champioships were once again great event. Zell am See were extremely beautiful and great place to have a tournament like this.

I had bad flu and feaver the whole tournament and it clearly affected result, especially at the end. Three rounds of golf I could play as planned, the last two rounds were the worst rounds i had in summer 2010. Still, if you view the whole statistics (9 pair, 22 bogey, 12 doubles, 11 inferior), so few actually triple + double catastrophe holes ruined a good result. For my level at this moment pairs and bogeys came, however, quite commendably. Preparations went as planned and a mount of training were on that level that i could reach to my goal (goal was to be on top 10) On the other hand, i moved from C category to B category just before the tournament (= Stableford -> stroke) so goal was quite hard, but still i think achievable….

Swedish open was held this year at Uppsala, Championship level golf course called Soderby Golf Club. I had exellent caddie with me whole week, Torbjörn. Du var jÀttebra. Tack for det.

Taste of international golf tour competition was given for example live scoring system, so everyone all over the world could follow competition on realtime. Tournament was well held, and city of Uppsala is place where i could imagine visit again someday.

Finnish Open 2010

This year Finnish open was little bit two sided for me. Playing was quite ok and i hitted ball very well, but scoring is sometimes difficult. I had my chances. Second place after first round, turned third place after Jeroen Coumou from Holland played exellent second round finishing in front of me to second place.

I had whole week exellent caddie Esko. Thank you Esko, we had it all coming right there where it should be just before that 16th hole. No driver next time 😀
